What to expect

1

Before your appointment

Our staff will contact you prior to your pet's appointment to give any instructions needed before arrival. Upon arrival at the hospital please inform the staff you are there for a cardiology appointment and you will be placed in an exam room where the cardiac nurse will collect medical history. The doctor will perform a cardiac physical exam, make diagnostic recommendations, as well as answer any questions or concerns you may have. The nurse will provide an itemized estimate, so you know exactly the costs for the diagnostics, no guessing or worrying. Once the estimate is signed, we will then bring your pet back to the treatment area where we will perform our diagnostics.
2

During your appointment:

Time required for a cardiology appointment is dependent on the amount of diagnostic work-up warranted and is therefore variable with each individual case. Typically, between one and two hours is necessary for most cases. Feel free to relax in our lobby or leave and come back. We understand your time is valuable, so for some patients, specific arrangements can be made for admission as day-cases, with drop-off in the morning and discharge later in the day. The nurse will call you when we have finished our diagnostics and you will be put back in an exam room where the doctor will discuss his findings and treatment plan for your pet.
3

After your appointment:

We provide a detailed report showing the examination and echocardiographic findings, clinical assessment, prognosis, medications (if needed). A follow-up appointment will be scheduled based on the findings. Medication refill requests may be called in to our office or requested through our online form. Should you have any additional questions or concerns after your visit please call our office and our friendly staff with assist you.
4

Paying for Your Pet's Care

As is customary with veterinary care, payment is due at time of service. For your convenience, we accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover cards, as well as cash. We accept all pet insurances, but please be aware that pet insurance does not work the way that regular medical insurance does. The customer is responsible for paying the invoice upfront and submitting the receipt to the pet insurance company, who then reimburses you directly.
